ARRIVAL BY AIR
Fly to Eleftherios Venizelos, Athens international airport (ATH).
Direct flights from Copenhagen (CPH) are offered by SAS and Aegean.
Other options departing from Denmark (with transit) include departing from Billund or Hamburg via Frankfurt or Munich.

GOING FROM ATHENS AIRPORT TO PORT OF RAFINA
Go from Athens airport by bus or taxi to Rafina. Bus is 4 €, taxi about 40 €. Both trips last about 30 minutes. Bus and taxi depart just outside arrivals. Bus schedule here  http://ktelattikis.gr/airport_timetable.

GOING FROM DOWNTOWN ATHENS TO PORT OF RAFINA
Take the metro from Monastiraki station to Nomismatokopio (line M3) and change to the bus towards Port of Rafina.

ARRIVING AT PORT OF RAFINA
Rafina is a picturesque harbor city with nice restaurants on the sea front. A nice place to have your lunch before entering one of the afternoon ferry boats to Andros.

TAKING THE FERRY BOAT
The ferry boats leave from Port of Rafina mornings and late afternoons and arrive 2 hrs. later at the small town of Gavrio on Andros. Check timetable here. Enter 'Rafina' as departure port and 'Gavrio' as arrival port.
Tickets are for sale at ticket shops on the harbor. Buy only one-way tickets. Return tickets available on Andros.  

STAYING OVERNIGHT IN RAFINA
Depending on arrival time of your flight, you may need to stay overnight in Rafina, and then catch the morning boat.
Hotel Corali (0030) 2294 022477 or (0030) 694 7588903 (https://www.hotel-corali.gr) is nice and close by. Double bed with balcony € 50-70. Breakfast not included, but the neighboring coffee shops are very nice. Corali welcomes dogs....
Hotel Avra +30 2294 022780 (www.hotelavra.gr) is also nice. Includes breakfast buffet and offers shuttle bus to and from the airport on an hourly basis (booking in advance). No dogs allowed.
Finally, there are quite a few nice AirBnB options in the area. Hosts may offer transportation to / from the airport.

GOING FROM GAVRIO TO KOXYLOU #89
In Gavrio, you have the option of either 1) renting a car for your entire stay or 2) taking the local bus to Ormos Korthio and a taxi the last 8 km up the mountain to our village, Koxylou.
You will find the accurate location by entering 'Koxylou #89' on Google maps. Be sure to enter 'Ormos Korthi' as a stop on the way. Do NOT turn left on the mountain road towards Koxylou about 30 km from Gavrion. This road is shorter but rather rough – maybe nice for You at a later occasion. 

Google Maps and Street view guides you to the right parking lot, and Google maps indicate the position of the house. Koxylou #89. MIND the spelling here. The village's name is spelled in several different ways.
 


RENTING A CAR
It is possible to get by with local taxis and hiking, but we recommend renting a car to go to and from the house for shopping and swimming and for sight seeing around the island. Rentals are convenient and not too expensive. From 25-40 € per day, depending on season and duration of rental period.
